Jamia Al Muslimin Mosque (Central Mosque) - Hochiminh city

Jamia Al Muslimin Mosque is one of 12 mosques serving HCMC. Built in 1935, it was constructed for Saigonese worshipers from southern India, but now Muslims from as far as Pakistan and Indonesia come to worship.

Naturally, Friday draws the biggest crowds. The shaded verandah and cool stone floors make it an ideal place to sit in the heat of the day, but be sure to dress modestly. If you want to enter Saigon's Jamia Al Muslimin Mosque, please remember to remove your shoes. Modest dress is also required and this usually means no shorts, bathing suits, tank tops, short skirts or possibly even flip-flops, just to be safe. Located in HCMC's District 1, the mosque is surrounded by halal food vendors that sell dishes ranging from curries to biscuits and bread.
